Vertiv's Canadian site now labels the Liebert Trinergy Cube page 'Pre-2024 Legacy Models'. Vertiv's current large modular UPS in North America is the Vertiv Trinergy (1,500 to 2,500 kW at 480 V).
Units already installed keep working after the manufacturer's cut-off; what changes is parts and factory support. We maintain discontinued units and plan the replacement when it makes sense. How to plan the replacement of a discontinued three-phase UPS.
2:19. The Liebert Trinergy Cube is Vertiv's large modular, transformer-free three-phase UPS, from 150 kW to 3.4 MW in a single unit and up to 27 MW in parallel. This video covers the NPC2 design, the published efficiency, Vertiv's University of Southampton case study on the earlier Liebert Trinergy, and its status: the Cube page is now a pre-2024 legacy model, with the Vertiv Trinergy as the current range.
0:00 What is the Liebert Trinergy Cube? What is the Liebert Trinergy Cube? It is Vertiv's large modular, transformer-free three-phase UPS, from 150 kilowatts to 3.4 megawatts in a single unit, and up to 27 megawatts in parallel.
0:14 What does modular mean here? What does modular mean here? The design is transformer-free, three-level NPC2 IGBT, with cores rated at up to 200 or 400 kilowatts, and Vertiv's three-dimensional modularity adds capacity without dropping the load, so a core can be serviced while the system protects.
0:32 What else is built in? What else is built in? Cores run continuously up to 55 degrees Celsius, and an adaptive algorithm auto-selects the most efficient mode for the load as conditions change.
0:43 How efficient is it? How efficient is it? Up to 99 percent in power-conditioning mode, and up to 99.5 percent peak, with a flat curve at partial load, which is the number Vertiv publishes for power-conditioning duty.
0:56 What does it look like in the field? What does it look like in the field? Vertiv's published case study on the earlier Liebert Trinergy: the University of Southampton built its largest-ever data centre on three of those units totalling 1,600 kVA, running high-performance computing and lighter processing on one facility.
1:15 And the reported result? And the reported result? The university reported annual carbon dioxide cut by 160 tonnes, and energy reduced by about 300 megawatt hours a year, against the prior facility.
1:28 Is it current? Is it current? Not under that name. Vertiv's Canadian site now labels the Trinergy Cube page a pre-2024 legacy model. Vertiv's current large modular UPS in North America is the Vertiv Trinergy, 1,500 to 2,500 kilowatts at 480 volts.
1:47 Who is it for? Who is it for? Very large data halls that size in megawatts, in the 150 kilowatt to 3.4 megawatt class, or the 1,500 to 2,500 kilowatt current range at 480 volts. If you are sizing one, request a quote at threephaseups.ca.

The orderable configurations we supply and service:
| Model | Rating | Phase / Voltage | Part number | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Liebert Trinergy Cube (per-core 200kVA) | 200 kW | 3ph 3-wire/4-wire in/out 380/400/415/440V | · | Current |
| Liebert Trinergy Cube (per-core 400kVA) | 400 kW | 3ph 3-wire/4-wire in/out 380/400/415/440V | · | Current |
| Liebert Trinergy Cube system 150kW-34MW | 150 kW | 3ph 3-wire/4-wire in/out 380/400/415/440V | · | Current |
| Liebert Trinergy Cube 400-1600kVA (NA) | 400 kW | 3ph 3-wire in/out 480V | · | Current |
The Liebert Trinergy Cube scales from 150 kW to 3.4 MW in a single unit, up to 27 MW in parallel, at up to 200 or 400 kW per core, on a transformer-free three-level NPC2 IGBT design. Vertiv quotes up to 99% efficiency in power-conditioning mode and up to 99.5% peak, with a flat curve at partial load. Its three-dimensional modularity (vertical service-while-protecting, horizontal core addition, orthogonal paralleling) lets capacity grow without dropping the load, and cores run continuously to 55 °C.
The University of Southampton built its largest-ever data centre on three Liebert Trinergy units totalling 1,600 kVA, running HPC and lighter processing on one facility. The university reported annual CO₂ cut by 160 tonnes and energy reduced by about 300 MWh per year versus the prior facility, with effective “100% uptime.” Trinergy’s adaptive algorithm auto-selects the most efficient mode for the load, the same behaviour the Trinergy Cube carries forward. We size, supply and service systems at this scale across Canada.

Battery strings and cabinets depend on the configuration and runtime. For a replacement string, see batteries for Vertiv / Liebert UPS systems.
We service the Vertiv Liebert Trinergy Cube across Canada: preventive maintenance, battery replacement and emergency repair, including units the manufacturer no longer supports. We are a Canadian UPS service and supply provider, working on three-phase systems since 2012.
Scheduled visits, battery work and fault response for these systems are covered by Vertiv / Liebert UPS maintenance and repair in Canada.
We engineer the solution: load and growth analysis, redundancy (N, N+1, 2N), runtime and battery sizing, paralleling and switchgear, and custom configurations where the standard catalogue doesn't fit. Because we supply every major brand, the Trinergy Cube is one option we weigh on its merits, not the only answer.
