A preventive maintenance visit on an APC or Schneider Electric UPS checks the batteries, the power modules, the fans and filters and the connections, then leaves a written report with every reading and what to plan for next. We set the interval with you: once a year is the usual baseline for a three-phase system, and dusty rooms, warm battery rooms or older strings call for more frequent visits.

The report lists each reading next to the one from the previous visit, so a block that is drifting away from the rest of the string shows up before a runtime test fails.
Schneider Electric's Smart-UPS SRT manual tells owners to replace the battery at least every 5 years, and names elevated ambient temperature, poor quality utility power and frequent short discharges as causes of shorter battery life. Three-phase strings age for the same reasons. The Easy UPS 3M specification gives 20 °C to 25 °C as the recommended optimal temperature for the batteries, so a warm battery room is the first thing we flag.
A string is replaced as a set: one new block in an aged string ages to match the others.
The visit checklist, report format and scheduling options are laid out in our preventive maintenance service description; when a string fails the readings, the matching blocks come from the APC battery range.
Some steps need the UPS in maintenance bypass. Schneider Electric's Galaxy VS manual is explicit that the batteries are not available as an alternate power source in that mode, so the load runs on utility power alone until the UPS is back online. We plan that step for a quiet window and keep it short.
On a Galaxy VS that carries the Live Swap label, a power module can be inserted or removed in any operation mode, so module work does not always need the bypass.
Some server rooms combine a three-phase Galaxy with racks of Smart-UPS SMT, SMX or SRT units. We check those during the same visit: battery age, the replace-battery status, the self-test result and the Near End of Life alarm setting. Schneider Electric's SRT manual explains that, with the default setting, this alarm sounds 180 days before the estimated end of life of the battery.
A maintenance contract fixes the visit schedule and the report format for one site or a fleet across provinces: UPS maintenance contracts. Public bodies that buy through tenders: public sector UPS service. A new Galaxy VS is started up by Schneider Electric before any maintenance contract begins.
Same-day service in Montreal, Quebec City, Toronto and Ottawa; 24 to 48 hours elsewhere in Canada. We reply and quote within 4 business hours. Tell us the brand, the model and the symptom or the visit you need, and the quote comes back with the scope and the date.
The same visit format on other brands: Eaton preventive maintenance and Liebert preventive maintenance. Repairs and alarms: APC repair.
Once a year is the usual baseline for a three-phase APC system. Dusty air, a warm battery room or a string past mid-life justify a second visit. We set the schedule with you.
Schneider Electric's Smart-UPS SRT manual says to replace the battery at least every 5 years. Heat, poor utility power and frequent short discharges shorten that, which is why we measure every block.
Only during a step done in maintenance bypass, when the batteries are not available as backup. We plan that step for a low-risk window, warn you in advance and keep it short.
Yes. Single-phase SMT, SMX and SRT units can be checked during the same visit as the three-phase equipment.
A written report with every reading, the comparison with the previous visit, the alarms found and cleared, and what to budget for next.
